So today's the day that those who bid on the new Wireless Spectrum licenses get to tell us about their strategies. I'm quite keen on their strategies, believing that an important piece will lie in the data service. Other users will have the same thoughts and will be demanding to be on the internet, being interactive, social, entertained and more productive.
For years we've been hearing about the slow rate of adoption that Canadians have with data services, especially when compared to Europe and some Asian countries. Well the reason being is that it hasn't really been cost effective enough for consumers. But now as profit margins are no longer in voice service and consumers love of being connected all the time, this might be a golden opportunity for both the industry and the consumers.
We can only wait and see.
